The Wellington Model Aeroplane Club (Inc.) was established in the late 1930’s and since then has been active in promoting the building and flying of model aircraft. It is affiliated to Model Flying New Zealand (MFNZ), the governing body for all model flying in New Zealand which, in turn, is affiliated to the Federation Aviation International (FAI) through the Royal New Zealand Aero Club. Note: MFNZ was, until recently, known as the New Zealand Model Aircraft Association (NZMAA).
Modellers who need help or advice with their project or those simply interested in getting into the hobby/sport are most welcome at any meeting. Members are encouraged to bring along their latest building project for a ‘Show and Tell’ session, or to have the practiced eye of an expert check it over prior to the test flight.
Social events also include the occasional barbecue, prize giving or club outing. All ideas for other activities are welcomed, please raise them with a committee member or send an email to the Secretary outlining your suggestions.
